This stationary light and sound show is the first of its kind in Russia, showcasing the genius loci of the city and its natural surroundings. The design concept focuses on emotional design, using associative colors and visual symbols of Krasnoyarsk, such as the Yenisei river, Krasny Yar, and the Krasnoyarsk Pillars. The show captures the essence of the city, immersing viewers in a captivating display of light and sound.
One of the main challenges of the project was translating the visual language into the physical environment. The lighting system consists of over 15,000 RGBW-controlled pixels, 2,000 linear RGBW lamps, and 2 LED media facades. These elements are seamlessly integrated into the 540-meter-long pedestrian bridge, museum center, and concert hall, creating a cohesive and immersive experience.
The technical prowess of the design is evident in the system's ability to withstand harsh winters with temperatures as low as -40 degrees Celsius. With over 200 DMX universes and more than 100,000 DMX addresses, the show's lighting sequences can be programmed and launched remotely, ensuring a seamless and dynamic experience for viewers.
The Heart of Siberia has become a beloved sightseeing attraction and a symbol of Krasnoyarsk. It has successfully revitalized the city center, turning it into a favorable and inviting space for both locals and tourists. The show's success lies in its ability to highlight the existing architectural and cultural landmarks of Krasnoyarsk while adding a new layer of art and innovation.
Recognizing its excellence, The Heart of Siberia was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category in 2020. This prestigious accolade celebrates designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements and making the world a better place.
Experience the magic of The Heart of Siberia and witness the transformation of Krasnoyarsk's urban environment through this captivating urban lighting show.
